Program Information
A program to reward owners of registered PMU horses for the time spent training and riding their horses.
Participants will track their time on a sheet provided by the registry each time they train or ride their horse. The program is based on a one-horse/one rider team. If you have multiple registered PMU horses than each horse must be enrolled and it’s time tracked individually.
What Counts
Time to log includes pleasure trail riding; ring training, showing, parades, camping trips and organized events such as trail rides and training clinics. To include owners with horses younger than riding age, we are allowing time to be logged for halter training, groundwork, round pen or lunge line training! Bonus time will be awarded for showing your PMU off to the world. If you attend an organized event such as a trail ride, parade or training clinic with your PMU and attach a flyer or Prize list signed by the organizers personnel, then you get a 1-hour bonus for each event attended!
What Doesn’t Count
The program is to promote riding and working with your PMU. Time that doesn’t count is cleaning stalls, feeding, grooming only and basic barn work. If a trainer is working your horse, and you are not present, the time doesn’t count. Horses that are being used as lesson horses can only have their time logged if the rider is it’s enrolled team partner. How to Enroll
One form is to be filled out for each “team”. (If more forms are needed, copies are acceptable!) Mail back to us with the enrollment fee and start tracking your time! Time will be accumulated from the date the form was postmarked. Patches are awarded at 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750, 1000*, 1500, 2000* 2,500, 3000*, 3500, 4000* 4,500 and 5,000* hours. At certain levels (*) bonus prizes will be awarded. Jackets bearing the Registry’s name and logo will be available at cost for participants to attach their patches to. (jackets will only be available to enrolled participants!) The lifetime fee for each horse/rider team is $30.00
